Before we begin, do let us remind you to check our other great plant watering systems and products that we carry here.
Most of our dear site viewers who are interested in the Gardena Holiday Watering Set will be asking for a more detailed explanation on how it works. So here’s the long awaited tutorial that will hopefully give a better representation of the Holiday Watering Set’s Setup.

This picture introduces the core components of the Holiday Watering Set. The main components are the water pump, a transformer for connecting the pump to an electrical socket, a 9m output tube and a 30m distribution tube. Other smaller necessities include end-caps, tube pegs and connectors. Let us now show you how to set up this simple vacation plant watering set. This is a fully automatic watering set which will solve all your watering woes!
Putting the different components together is simple work of mostly cable connection and cutting tubes to your desired length (We’ll talk more about that later). The following diagrams illustrate the simple setup of the transformer and water pump.

Tip: Try to maintain the water level at least halfway up your pump for cooling purposes!
After you are done connecting the pump to a socket via the transformer, the main task revolves around connecting the main output tube to 1 of 3 sockets on the water pump. The other two can be covered with stop caps if you wish to only use one tube. You can exert more control of the output by cutting the provided 9m long tube into any shorter length. For example, cutting it into 3 strips of 3m will allow you to connect one tube to every output socket, thus giving better directional spread. This is perhaps the true beauty of the system as water distribution is not affected by the spatial arrangement of your plants.
Output tubes are in turn connected to a common adaptor that allows for up to 12 distributing tubes. 3 of these connectors are provided which means you can connect up to 36 different channels for an epic watering service to your potted green friends (if you have that many pots). Use end-caps to cover sockets not in use. You can see what I mean with the following

Pipe pegs are provided in the set to assist in rooting your varying channels of distributing tubes. This is really neat as it keeps them in place and presents an organized array.
Operating the self-watering system is a breeze as all you need to do is turn the power on at a set time. This set time will be stored in the transformer allowing auto-activation of the pump and thus watering, every 24 hours. In other words, if you want your plants to get an early shower at 8am daily, turn on the power at 8am on your first day. Leave the power on and the device will do its job everyday without fail nor complain. The timer can be reset by simply switching it off.
When you are done with setting up your holiday watering set, it should look something like this:
